Finally Nowhere
October 10th 2008 10:31
Finally I found the desert, or rather it found me, parched by loveless winds and barren of spirit. The agony of people had reduced me to tears, now evaporating from my face, all the while hoping for an oasis in the limitless world of rocks and thorns. There was no question of going back, now that the past had been obliterated in one hotel room after another and I remained marooned on an island of self in an ocean of doubt.
Hours, or years later I was still sailing through a sea of sand, setting a course for disaster yet hoping for a destination of delight. I was already planning a sequel to the melodrama of my erstwhile existence, counting on a green light from above, knowing that time was finally on my side. Such ruminations fell by the way side, as I sped to my merry death.
As if on cue, the Lovetruck shuddered to a halt, now that the last drop of self belief had drained away, leaving me stranded right in the epicentre of nowhere. The crows soon descended to mock and peck in retribution for a wasted life and dried up dreams. All I could do was walk away, as I have always done, leaving love behind to starve and thirst, as I continue on in blissful ignorance of all the world and all I am.
