My bad week just kept giving and giving. One moment I was a reptile on the brink of extinction and the next moment ushered in a new truth. I was still getting used to the last truth, or at least the version that played constantly in my head. My own thoughts bombarded me like rapacious insects and I wandered in the netherworld of my imminent decay.

I stood in the twilight on a road to nowhere as the forces of greed and fear battled for control on the playing fields of my dreams. The epic story of my life took on a new meaning when put in perspective. The signs had been there all along and pointed the way backwards to infinity.

And there I was imprisoned in time in a snapshot taken as a baby. Things were not quite right of course but they never were in the red toothy grin of the suburbs. Under that veneer of madness and obscenity there was a downside in those verdant, prickly backyards. Who would have thought that the truth could be so loosely applied?

The old dog took it like a trooper and never gave any indication of its true feelings. The veracity of its existence was never questioned nor proved. I could be lying about the truth but why would I? There must be a reason.
